The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) made a first arrest following the audit which revealed the existence of a mafia linked to plane tickets for Air Senegal staff, a system known as the name of “Staff Travel” in the company’s jargon. Thus, the “Staff Travel” service was discreetly arrested at the AIBD (Blaise Diagne International Airport) and placed in police custody.

El Hadji Tidiane Ndiaye, the new director general of Air Senegal, filed a complaint after the discovery of this mafia, as reported by the Liberation newspaper in its publication of the day.

Indeed, the “Staff Travel” service was apprehended by the AIBD DIC and custody. During her hearing, she recognized part of the facts and involved the responsibility of a former senior Air Senegal. According to the audit, the provisional damage concerning “Staff Travel” tickets amounts to nearly 200 million FCFA. These tickets, intended for staff, were fraudulently sold on the black market.

Other commercial tickets were also sold through occult circuits, without the funds being donated to Air Senegal, victim of real looting.

Everything suggests that the investigations, carried out by the DIC, which is currently on the front line in the fight against financial delinquency, could lead to the fall of several personalities involved in this scandal.
