René Angélil died on January 14, two days before celebrating his 74th birthday. On January 16, Celine Dion once again took to social media to honor the man she loved and the father of her children, who would have been 82 years old.
“Today is your birthday, but the date doesn’t matter, because there isn’t a day when we don’t celebrate life with you. You are part of us every day in the memories we cherish,” writes the 56-year-old singer.
She goes on to say, “As we look through all these years of photos and videos that constantly keep you alive, we hear your voice, we see your gestures and we adore your spirit. We always celebrate you. Happy birthday René, Our Love.”
All while signing, as she always does, “Céline, RC, Nelson and Eddy xx…”

“René, we can’t believe you’ve been gone for nine years already. Not a day goes by without feeling your presence, RC, Eddy, Nelson and me. You were my greatest champion, my partner and the one who always saw the best in me. I honor you and we will forever miss you my love… We love you.
