In a statement posted to Instagram, Exodus thanked Zetro for his years of service to the group: “We thank Steve for his years as the band’s frontman and for all the incredible music we have created together. We wish him the best for his future endeavors.”

Rob Dukes: a big comeback

Rob Dukes first joined Exodus in 2005, participating in four studio albums, including Shovel Headed Kill Machine et Exhibit B: The Human Condition. Although he left the group in 2014, his friendship with the members of Exodus was never broken, despite initial tensions surrounding his departure. Dukes described this period as difficult: “When Exodus fired me, it took me a year to stop being angry. But talking to Gary [Holt]we sorted things out, and that calmed the situation.”

Since then, Dukes has joined the band on stage several times, strengthening the bonds he shares with his former bandmates.

A new chapter for Exodus

While Exodus is working on the sequel Persona non grata (2021), the return of Dukes marks a renewal for the group. Dukes will also participate in the next Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest in April, marking his first official performance with Exodus since his return.

The band assured fans that this change would not affect the progress of the next album: “The next chapter begins, the new album is progressing as planned and the hostilities will continue.”
