'Snow White', the new live-action adaptation of the Disney classic, has presented a new trailer that includes songs dubbed into Spanish. The title stars Rachel Zegler ('The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes') as the princess and Gal Gadot, who dons the crown of the Evil Queen.
This new trailer emphasizes the musical side of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'since beyond presenting new images and iconic moments from the original film, two songs translated into Spanish are introduced. The Magic Mirror also plays an important role in the trailer, as it explains once and for all the meaning of Snow White's name.
“She is pure as snow,” he says, referring to the inner beauty of the young Disney princess. This sentence differs from 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' from 1937, where it was stated that the protagonist was “as white as snow” due to her skin tone. Understanding that we are talking about a reimagining of the original story, it is more than normal to find these types of details in the plot.
A different origin
Despite this, Zegler herself recently explained to Variety that her character's name may have another reading. This, much more justified than the one in the previous paragraph, refers to the origin of the young woman and the tragic accident that she suffered when she was just a child:
“[Blancanieves] survives a blizzard that occurred when he was just a baby. “That's why the King and Queen decide to call her Snow White, to remind her of her resilience.”
The actress, subject to numerous racist attacks on social networks, affirms that 'Snow White' seeks to find a princess much more independent than the one in the animated classic: “One of the central aspects of our film is to remind anyone how strong they really are.” The new Disney movie arrives in theaters on March 21.
