These tapes contain 12 previously unreleased tracks.
It is Gregg Musgrovea former California Highway Patrol officer who made this great discovery in a storage unit he had recently purchased. The 56-year-old man, a stay-at-home father, went with a colleague to empty this storage unit which had just been purchased in the San Fernando Valley (United States).
The Hollywood Reporter reported on December 12 that this storage location belonged to Music producer and singer Bryan Loren.
In total, 12 soundtracks were found. According to research, they were recorded between 1989 and 1991. A list of these tracks dating from the same period as the album “Dangerous” describes each track in more detail.
“I listen to this stuff and I get goosebumps because no one has ever heard this before,” said the lucky researcher. Adding that “hearing Michael Jackson talking and joking was really, really cool” since on some tapes the King of Pop can be heard talking and not singing.
Several pieces have led to hypotheses as to their meaning in the American newspaper:
- Don’t Believe It : which perhaps refers to the rumors that were circulating.
- Truth on Youth : which appears to be a rap duo with LL Cool J.
- Seven Digits : which seems to refer to the identification number that bodies receive at the morgue.

The Hollywood Reporter also writes that Gregg Musgrove and his lawyer have contacted Michael Jackson’s heirs. They declared that they did not claim ownership of these cassettes and that if someone decides to buy them in the future, they will not be able to distribute them since the copyright still belongs to the estate.
“The Michael Jackson estate has received DAT and NOT copies of the original recordings of Michael’s music, and we have confirmed that the actual original recordings are in fact already in the estate’s vaults,” a representative for the estate said. succession.
Gregg Musgrove and his lawyer still want to present these cassettes at auction in the future in the hope that a fan of the artist will buy them for a good sum.
Currently, the tapes are in a secure facility, under the control of Gregg Musgrove’s attorney.
