Among the Bruels, talent is passed down from father to son. Indeed, Léon, whose mother is Amanda Sthers, decided to start singing like his famous father. With a surprising stage name, Hesby, which refers to both of his parents, the young man is going to try his luck in English. “In the United States, I start from zero without any privileges”explained Léon, for Le Parisien, Friday December 13.
“My father is not known here and that’s a good thing, I want to know what I’m worth on my own. I also chose my own name. My privilege lies in the fact that I have the chance to “to have his advice and that he is an artist that I admire. Music is shared and we often played and sang together in my childhood.”
Patrick Bruel reveals his anguish towards his son Léon
This Friday, December 13, he performed for the first time in concert at the Raymond Kabbaz theater in Beverly Hills. His parents were obviously present:
“I’m super stressed for him,” confided Amanda Sthers, alongside her son Oscar, and her mother Véronique Queffélec.
Patrick Bruel, at the back of the room, indicated:
“I didn’t sleep all night. I was in concert yesterday in Toulouse but I wouldn’t have missed Léon’s first scene for anything in the world”. For Patrick Bruel, this leap into the void was a real success.
“I am very proud of my children”
But like all parents, the singer was very stressed: “He’s still a big unknown… But he gives himself the means, he works in his studio, he prepares his sounds, his songs, his comedy lessons,” he told our colleagues at Télé 7 jours.
“I am very proud of my children, they are growing up in a world that has nothing to do with the one I knew when I started, so I have no advice to give them. I simply tried to instill in them the value of things, as a father”.
And out of the question for him to leave him with this label of “son of” : “It’s better that he forms his identity as far away from us as possible. If he needs me, I’m there. But I don’t have to speak for him or make him exist through me”
