Damso talks about his surprise album

Damso, for his part, made an appearance to promote his surprise album titled I liedreleased on November 15. During his appearance on the show, he also took the opportunity to reveal some clues about his future and latest album, entitled Yeswhich will be released on May 30, 2025. He first wanted to explain why he had finally decided to release I liedthis surprise album, just before Yes. It seems a fan tipped the scales.

It was special because it (the fan, editor’s note) came with such crazy energy. He asked me: ‘Before the album, it would be nice to have some sounds’ and honestly it touched me so much that he was so sincere that I said ‘ok, I’m going to go to the studio’. Then I had to make three sounds and I made eleven in the end” he testified on the set of France 5 before returning to the musical retirement that he will take in a few months.

The artist soon to retire

Honestly, as I feel very good in my life at the moment, I say to myself ‘isn’t it time to test other things, to test design…’ I like to design, to test things ‘other things, that’s what concerns me a little” he admitted before continuing: “I did what I wanted to do. A lot of people think it’s a strategy but no, I did what I wanted to do.” he said.

Damso has released several studio albums which have been very successful with the public. In 2016, his first opus entitled Low battery saw the light of day. In 2017, the 32-year-old artist revealed Selfhood. The following year, in 2018, he released Lithopédion. Finally, in 2020, his fourth album, FLESHwas published.
