The iconic Beatles drummer mentioned the name of Barry Keoghan to play him on screen in the series of four biopics imagined by Sam Mendes on each of the members of the famous British group.
Ringo Starr lifts a corner of the veil on the casting of the series of biopics on the Beatles imagined by Sam Mendes. After months of speculation, the group's iconic drummer, interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, mentioned the name of Barry Keoghan to play him on screen.
“I think it's great. I think he's taking drum lessons now, and I hope he doesn't take too many,” he said.
Released by 2027
In February 2024, Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall, 1917) had confided that he was going to make four separate films on each member of the Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
For now, the names of the actors who will play the Beatles on screen have not yet been officially revealed. Some names have been mentioned such as Paul Mescal for the role of Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson for that of John Lennon and Joseph Quinn for that of George Harrison.
According to the filmmaker, these four biopics will offer the point of view of each member of the legendary British rock group and will be interconnected. This ambitious project, carried out with the agreement of the Beatles family and Apple Corps, could be released by 2027 according to Deadline.
