“It’s not Mushroomhead 2.0”: Jeffrey Nothing clarifies the objectives of his new musical project

Jeffrey Nothing, former singer and co-founder of Mushroomhead, recently clarified the nature of his new musical project. Contrary to what some fans had understood, this project will not be a cover or alternative version of Mushroomhead, but an evolution based on similar creative ideals.

“It’s not Mushroomhead 2.0”

In a statement released on November 25, Jeffrey Nothing explained: “When I said I was making my own version of Mushroomhead, I meant a new project based on the same creative ideals that the project I co-founded was based on. Mushroomhead has always sought to push the boundaries of creativity and abstraction. Early reflected this. This is what I want to bring with this new project.”

He also wanted to reassure fans: “If you are a fan of Mushroomhead, there will be enough elements [similaires] to satisfy your curiosity. If you never liked Mushroomhead, this will be different enough that it might interest you. We want this project to have its own DNA.”

However, Jeffrey insisted his project would not seek to replicate tracks like Bwomp or Sun Doesn’t Riseand that it was not about reliving past glory days.

A project open to collaborations

Jeffrey also discussed the possibility that former members of Mushroomhead could participate in this new musical chapter. He clarified: “It's possible that Mushroomhead alumni will work with us or play at our shows. Not because we're trying to relive the past glory days, but simply because some of them are dear friends. Every experience is more rewarding when shared with people you love.”

Review of the current Mushroomhead

Jeffrey Nothing has never hidden his disagreement with the current management of Mushroomhead, whom he criticizes for its apparent obsession with selling masks every year rather than evolving musically.

A project in development

The project, whose name has not yet been revealed, is currently in the writing phase. Jeffrey plans to keep a low profile until the time is right to introduce him to the public.

“We are in the process of writing songs and we will keep quiet until the launch. Thank you for your continued support.”
