Weverse Magazine has insisted on denying its involvement in the writing of the HYBE documents which recently caused controversy.

Recently an audit of HYBE took place before the National Assembly, and this led to the revelation of numerous internal HYBE documents, which are causing serious controversy due to HYBE’s comments about artists from other agencies. These documents consist of 18,000 pages seized by the National Assembly during a raid on HYBE, and around twenty pages leaked on the internet, leading to a wave of criticism against HYBE. These documents circulated within the agency between HYBE directors and decision-makers.

Internal documents notably showed hate campaigns allegedly carried out by the agency against artists like aespa, RIIZE, and others.

During the audit, HYBE accidentally admitted to having manipulated the sales of its artists, which also raised numerous criticisms, in front of the National Assembly and online.

In new revelations, we discover comments written at HYBE referencing three JYP Entertainment female idols: ITZY’s Yuna, as well as NMIXX’s Haewon and Kyujin, with comments on Yuna’s sex appeal, Haewon’s feminist readings , or even comparisons between Kyujin and Hong Eunchae from LE SSERAFIM.

While loads of other documents have come to light showing comments on loads of industry idols, one has to think that what we know of only concerns about 20 pages of the 18,000 seizures, so the comments on the other idols must be there by the thousands.

SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan took to Instagram today, posting a big message to protect idols who are suffering from this situation and provide some comfort.

On HYBE’s official website, CEO Lee Jae Sang later apologized via a statement.

According to the audit’s revelations, it was a former editor-in-chief of Weverse Magazine who wrote these documents for HYBE.

On November 10, Weverse Magazine then took the stand to deny any involvement in this matter and to clarify that the editor-in-chief had worked on these documents outside of his work for Weverse Magazine.

In a statement, the magazine officially declared:

“This is the Weverse Magazine team.

We sincerely apologize for causing discomfort and worry to users who care about Weverse Magazine due to the situation that occurred because of the surveillance materials.

We would like to clarify several facts related to this matter:

• The document in question was something the former editor-in-chief worked on separately, so Weverse Magazine staff were not even aware of the document’s existence.

• With the exception of the former editor-in-chief, neither staff involved in the production of Weverse Magazine nor external editors ever participated in the drafting of the monitoring document.

• The former editor-in-chief was removed from his position and banned from further participation in Weverse Magazine. As for the workers who were separately responsible for monitoring by the former editor-in-chief, their work was also suspended.

We clearly state that Weverse Magazine has nothing to do with the controversial surveillance document, and Weverse Magazine team members are opposed to the document in question.

Despite this, we apologize once again for being mentioned about this unpleasant matter and for causing discomfort to users.

Weverse Magazine promises to reward its readers with even deeper and more abundant content in the future. »
