For her farewell to the stage, Sylvie Vartan spoke about her career and her life, in particular about the links which continue to unite her with her first husband, Johnny Hallyday, 44 years after their divorce and seven years after the death of the latter.
At 80 years old, Sylvie Vartan is preparing to bid farewell to the public during a tour which will take place throughout France and which she kicked off on November 9 with a concert at the Palais des sports in Paris, where the singer performed hits for 2.5 hours before being joined by singer Etienne Daho as a special guest.
But before going on stage, Sylvie Vartan confided in the public as rarely by agreeing to answer questions from the readers of “Parisien” for whom she returned to her farewells, declaring that she no longer had sufficient physical resources to be able to continue to ensure many more years of concert.

Asked about her collaborations with different artists, she then did not fail to mention one particularly dear to her heart, declaring “to tell the truth, it is only with Johnny that I have really shared a stage , which we really sang together. I did duets especially for the Carpentier shows on television, it was a lot of fun. But on stage… It’s always the same story, you have to be free. With Johnny, it was also a way of seeing ourselves. »

An eternal love story
Married in 1965, Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan ended up divorcing in 1980 after a checkered union. Stories for which the singer holds no grudge since she now declares that she has left of Taulier “youth, madness, passion, crazy love… And then David, it’s a lot”.
“Even when we were separated, he often came to our house, he loved Tony very much [Scotti, son mari depuis 1984] and vice versa… He often spent time with us in Los Angeles…” Sylvie Vartan tells the readers of “Parisien” who does not fail to question her about the singer’s death, now seven years ago.

“We cannot be at peace. How to be? It’s a very sad moment. Also because things were evolving in a climate that was not what it seemed like. He didn’t look like the person he was younger, who he really was. He was tired, not well, sick… It’s sad. » remembers Sylvie Vartan, preferring to preserve the image of the Johnny she has known all her life.
A great-grandmother close to her family
From her love affair with the rocker, Sylvie Vartan is left with a son, David, and the family founded by him. A family which could push the interpreter of “La plus belle pour aller danser” to return to settle in France in order to benefit more from them, and in particular from the youngest, Harrison, great-grandson of Sylvie, born of Ilona Smet’s love affair with Kamran Ahmed.
“The little one is a sweetheart, my granddaughter’s son, it’s very moving. I rarely see him unfortunately, I hope to see him much more often, because the years go by. I need to have children around me, I like that. » explains the happy great-grandmother who will therefore be able to take advantage of her well-deserved retirement to spend more time with family, from January 2025, when her tour ends.
