After 16 long years at the helm of the legendary Saturday slot in the 2nd part of the evening on France 2, Laurent Ruquier decided to give up his place to Léa Salamé. As a reminder, the two hosts presented the show On est en direct as a duo last season.
Following the departure of Laurent Ruquier, Léa Salamé therefore inherited a brand new weekly talk show on the public channel, the next number of which will be broadcast on Saturday June 15, 2024, from 11:25 p.m. Called What a time!, this new show will be able to count on the presence of Christophe Dechavanne as a permanent guestbut also on the humor of Philippe Caverivière, already present in On est en direct last season.
Léa Salamé: “There is real pressure on the bottom”
“It is a historic and cult box of France Télévisions, even an institution. When I was young, I loved Thierry Ardisson’s shows (editor’s note: Everyone is talking about it). Later, I liked those of Laurent Ruquier, where I also had the chance to be co-presenter in On est en direct last year”indicated Léa Salamé during an interview.
“The two men who occupied this position before me were television beasts. So I go there humbly. Without pretention. Trying to follow in their footsteps. While having a little music of my own, which will perhaps be more journalism than animation. I almost feel the duty to ‘do well’as a civic responsibility. There is real pressure at the bottom“, added the journalist.
What an era! : eight guests on set for the last of the season
For the last show of the season, Léa Salamé once again invited many guests to her set. The journalist will notably receive the famous comedian Dany Boon. The latter will come to present his new film. He will be accompanied for the occasion by the actress Laurence Arné, who gives him the answer on screen. In addition, the actress is also the director of this feature film.
Léa Salamé will also welcome actor Tomer Sisley on her set. Currently showing in the hit film called Under the Seine on Netfix, the César-winning actress Bérénice Béjo will also be present for the last of Quelle époque!. Finally, Agustin Galiana, Gaël Tchakaloff, -M- and Thibault Cauvin will complete the list of guests of the France 2 talk show.
