Behind the scenes of the meeting between Damso and Booba!
The dazzling career of Damso in rap has fascinated people for years. However, the details of its beginnings remained unknown to the general public until now. Thanks to the producer's revelations The Patternbrother of rapper Shay, we know more about the signing of Damso at 92i, Booba's label.
It all started when Damso helped Shay with the songwriting “My retirement”, featured on the album “Pretty Bitch”. This collaboration attracted the attention of Le Motif, who decided to return the favor to the young Belgian artist.
Le Motif took the initiative of sending Booba a selection of four unreleased pieces by Damso: “Débrouillard”, “Uneâme pour deux”, “Peur d’être sobre”, “Noir Meilleur”.
Impressed by Damso's raw talent, Booba did not hesitate for long. His response to Le Motif was as brief as it was decisive: “Let history be made, old man.”. These few words marked the start of a collaboration that would revolutionize French-speaking rap.
Just a few weeks after this first contact, Damso made his official debut within the 92i. His participation in the song “Pinocchio”, from the album “Black Nemesis” by Boobaleft its mark and announced the arrival of a major new talent on the rap scene.
