At 80 years old, Sylvie Vartan is lucky to be a happy mother, grandmother and even great-grandmother. Married to Tony Scotti since 1984, the famous French singer lives in the United States all year round. A situation which unfortunately means that she cannot see her grandchildren very often. In the columns of Le Parisien, the one who will soon begin a concert tour to say goodbye, has just made revelations about her great-grandson, the son of Ilona Smet.
Sylvie Vartan talks about her great-grandson
Born in Bulgaria, singer Sylvie Vartan grew up in France. It was in our country that she became known to the general public and made a career in the world of music. After her divorce from Johnny Hallyday, the singer remarried, in June 1984, to the American producer Tony Scotti, in Los Angeles. Since this date, Sylvie Vartan therefore lives in the United States.
And as time passes, the singer suffers more and more from the distance from her family. His son David Hallyday lives between Portugal and France. His grandchildren are based in Paris. At 80, Sylvie Vartan plans to return to live in France.
“Yes, it's possible. But they all love coming to America. When I say that we might get closer, they tell me 'We don't want to, it's also our house'.” explains the artist in the columns of Le Parisien, this Thursday, November 7, 2024.
She then admits to not seeing them more often: “The little one is a love, my granddaughter's son, it's very moving. I rarely see him unfortunately, I hope to see him much more often, because the years go by. I need to have children around me, I like that“.
A united part of the Hallyday clan
With these words, Sylvie Vartan talks about her grandson Harrison who is none other than the son of Ilona Smeteldest daughter of David Hallyday. The 29-year-old became a mother for the first time in 2022, a few months after her marriage to Kamran Ahmed, her long-time sweetheart.
Professional model, Ilona Smet seems close to Emma, her sister who is an actress and who starred in the series “Tomorrow belongs to us” on TF1. Let's not forget that the two sisters also have a little brother… who has grown up well, Cameron Hallyday.
All three are very close to their dad, but also to their aunt, Laura Smet, herself the mother of a little boy named Léo.
