The legendary Eminem has just struck a big blow with the release of his new single “Houdini”. In just a few hours, the music video has already accumulated an impressive 16 million views on YouTube, rising straight to the top of the trends. But that’s not all, the song also reached number one on the charts in more than 50 countries around the world. Impressive.
“Houdini” is just a taste of what’s to come with Eminem’s twelfth studio album, titled “The Death of Slim Shady”. Packed with provocative punchlines, the track provides insight into how the rapper prepares to bury his alter ego Slim Shady, created in 2002. The clip, rich in surprise references, begins with a call from his manager Paul Rosenbergwho says to him: “I listened to the album… my god, that’s not possible, you’re on your own on this one.”
Far from being alone, Eminem is surrounded by many stars in the video for “Houdini”. We find there in particular 50 Cent, Pete Davidson and Snoop Dogg. The legendary Dr Dre also makes an appearance, announcing that Slim Shady has reached the year 2024 through a space-time portal.
