Blank notebook for Renaud! On May 4, the 71-year-old singer married Christine during a ceremony which took place at the town hall of the 14th arrondissement of Paris. Under the sun and in festive outfits, the singer and Cerise said “yes” to each other in front of an audience of stars. Among the guests, we could notably see Vianney, Bénabar, Jean-Paul Rouve, Patrick Pelloux, Philippe Lellouche and even Dave.
On the other hand, Renaud’s daughter did not participate in her father’s wedding. Lolita Séchan was indeed absent. And on Instagram, she didn’t mince her words. “You can refrain from comments on my father’s marriage here”, she wrote in a story, on her account. Asked about the union of her famous dad and Cerise, she more or less revealed that she did not want to go there.
“I’m not defending anything. I wasn’t reacting to negative or positive comments about marriage. It doesn’t concern me. I was just saying leave me alone, in life and here on my personal page which mainly talks about my jobwrote Lolita Séchan. Talk to him if you have anything to say. We are two individualized people, if one gets married, the other may not care. And in this case, don’t participate.”
Renaud’s wedding: it was “grandiose”
Regardless of his daughter’s absence, Renaud savored the big day according to Dave’s confidences. “At the town hall, there were so many fans that I had the impression of attending the wedding of Johnny (Hallyday) and Sylvie (Vartan)”explained the singer to the Parisian. And on Europe 1, Hugues Aufray described this event as “grandiose”.
“The word is not an exaggeration, it was a wedding of a king, in a magnificent estate with a large meadow and there were many guests”, added the singer. I have to say that Renaud and Cerise have the perfect love for several years now. “Her arrival in my life changed everything. I’m madly in love. She’s been following me for thirty years, but we first met six years ago on a TV set. She wore earrings with cherries, unforgettable! That’s why I call her Cherry”confided the singer to Le Parisien.
Renaud: this addition stopped for Cerise
“We met again on May 12, 2022, the day after my 70th birthday. She had asked for my contact to give me a gift. She is a seamstress and made me a shirt out of bandanas”, remembered Renaud. Touched by this gift, the singer fell in love at first sight. “I invited her to have coffee at home in Paris, then to Provence, then on vacation to Cap-Ferret”he added.
For Cerise’s beautiful eyes, Renaud even got rid of a stubborn addiction: “I stopped smoking just two months ago. I smoked up to three packs a day! On the breath, I feel the difference. I did it for this tour and for Cerise”. And at 71, the singer is therefore a happy newlywed.
