“Here it all begins” Summary in advance of the episode of May 14, 2024
Hortense tries to make a new friend…
Alice meets a group of first year students for a baking class. The young woman introduces herself. Souleymane suggests to Alice that they introduce themselves in turn, but Alice has already learned their first and last names by heart thanks to the trombinoscope. She then tells the students that she is going to have them work on Paris Brest. Souleymane points out that they have already worked on this recipe. Alice asks the young man to raise his hand next time to speak. Souleymane complies and tells Alice that they did a Paris Brest with Zacharie two weeks earlier. Penelope clarifies that it was a revisit and that he did not teach them the five chemical reactions at the base of this dessert.
After class, Pénélope and Souleymane meet for coffee on the double A terrace. Their conversation mainly revolves around Alice. Unlike Souleymane, Pénélope found her course focused on chemistry very interesting. She admits that Alice could be a little more fun, but she appreciates her original and unexpected approach to baking. Pénélope suggests to Souleymane to give him a chance. Hortense, who has heard their discussion, interrupts them to ensure that they are really talking about Alice, which is the case. “I would be curious to know your opinion about him,” Penelope then said to him. Intrigued, Hortense invites herself to Alice’s table while she is having lunch. She quickly becomes familiar with her and highlights two points in common between them: their passion for cooking and the fact that people find them strange. Hortense is convinced that they could be friends, but Alice replies that she does not need his friendship. She then makes sure that she has not offended Hortense. The latter does not admit defeat and returns to see Alice at the end of the day to ask her to be her friend again. She invites her for a drink, but Alice prefers to work.
Rose is going to move
At the Institute, Carla goes to Clotilde to borrow clothes from Rose. She has to repaint a piece of furniture with Bérénice in her room and does not have appropriate clothing for the work. She assures Rose that she will return them to her without the slightest stain. Carla catches her mother reading real estate ads on her cell phone. Rose explains to her daughter that she is looking for an apartment. A few moments later, she announces to Clotilde that she is going to move. The latter is saddened to see her leave. Rose explains to her sister that she is ready to take charge of her life and that it is partly thanks to her if she can do it. Clotilde tells Rose that her door will always be open to her and that she will miss her.
A little later, Rose and Carla meet in the park. Rose shows her daughter her favorite real estate ads. Carla criticizes her choices. She believes her mother deserves better. She does some research and finds a small house renovated and with a swimming pool. The problem is that she is far from the Institute. Rose explains to her daughter that between noon, she went to visit an apartment located in the center of Calvières and she liked it. Carla jokingly retorts to her mother that she will have to manage her move. Cardone hears her and does not appreciate the way she expresses herself to a supervisor. Rose finds his reaction disproportionate. “Just because she’s your daughter doesn’t mean you have to let yourself be walked on,” Cardone retorts. Rose sees red and snaps at him about Ethan. Carla is impressed and realizes that she finally has things in common with her biological mother.
Did Carole drug Laetitia?
In Brittany, Kelly still holds a grudge against Laetitia. Because of his disappearance, his brigade came second to last during the first event of the Coupe de France de cuisine. Laetitia swears to her daughter that she only had one drink during the welcome cocktail. She thinks someone drugged her. This is why she has carried out analyzes and is awaiting the results. Kelly doesn’t believe her, because her mother spends her time lying. Laetitia admits that she sometimes invents things, but she would never lie to him. Kelly then confronts her mother about her past with Chef Rosset and asks her if Anne really fired her for stealing. She adds that according to chef Lenglart, she invented this story to cover herself. Laetitia assures her daughter that Carole is talking nonsense and is simply trying to destabilize her.
A few moments later, Kelly, Salomé and Maya find themselves in the kitchen with Teyssier. He listed for them on a board all the recipes and techniques that they will have to master until the next test which will take place in two days. If the brigade wants to advance to the semi-final, it will have to come first or second in this event. Kelly takes this opportunity to apologize to Salomé and Maya for being late last Friday. Teyssier asks him to stop blaming himself and focus on what’s next. Then, he reminds the brigade that their future is at stake. Maya confides to Teyssier that she has trouble believing in their victory seeing the level of the other teams. Teyssier decides to change strategy and make them work on their minds. He arranges to meet them in five minutes in sportswear. Kelly, Salomé and Maya meet Jasmine and Lionel in front of the entrance. Jasmine makes sure Kelly is okay and tells her that she wants them both to go as far as possible in this competition. At the same time, Teyssier announces to Salomé, Maya and Kelly that they will have to go for a 10 kilometer jog. He will follow them on a bike. Kelly, Salomé and Maya convince Lionel to accompany them.
The brigade runs to the beach when Salomé suddenly falls under the spell of a majestic villa on the Emerald Coast, whose architecture is reminiscent of a manor. Offering stunning sea views, this is actually a restaurant for sale. The young woman leaves Maya and Kelly to continue their jogging and approaches the place. Back at the castle, Kelly overhears a conversation between chef Rosset and Carole Lenglart. The latter believes that Kelly does not have the shoulders to be brigade leader. Chef Rosset thinks that the young woman is talented and that if she had had a little more time, she would have presented a worthy dish on Friday. Carole is happy that she arrived late. She is convinced that she will not be able to move up in the rankings. Carole does not hide the fact that she would do anything to eliminate him from the competition.
For her part, Laetitia shares her concern with Zacharie. She fears that boss Rosset will seek revenge on her by penalizing Kelly. Zacharie tries to reassure her by telling her that Benoît Delobel will not let her do this. Immediately, Laetitia receives the results of her blood test. She rushes to the castle and shows them to her daughter. Laetitia was indeed drugged with sleeping pills. That’s why she doesn’t remember anything. Kelly apologizes for not immediately believing her. Salomé assumes that someone tried to destabilize Kelly. The latter is convinced that Carole Lenglart drugged her mother without her knowledge.
