Dr. Dre in the “Gin & Juice” commercial.

Frankly, it’s so rare that we’re not going to shy away from our pleasure. Dr. Dre is credited for a new track. Well, ok, he doesn’t rap but he produces and it’s a track that accompanies a commercial video touting his alcohol brand “Gin & Juice” named after the Snoop Dogg classic. The two legends also joined forces in a short film to promote their new alcoholic drink “Gin & Juice”, which is also named after the Dogg’s title track.

In this Prohibition-themed video, Snoop and Dre explore the “origins” of the drink, taking viewers back to the 1930s when this intoxicating combination was born. The cinematic visual also stars actress Nicola Peltz Beckham and country singer Hardy, as the two rap icons play armed smugglers. The short also features Hardy’s country remix of Snoop’s 1993 hit which, like the original, was produced by Dre.

In a press release, Hardy said:

“The whole ‘Gin & Juice’ process was a dream for me. I recorded the song and a few weeks later I was on set with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. It didn’t feel real to me until I showed up and saw the names on the trailers I spent two days with them and I can honestly say they are two of the coolest, most genuine people and they love me. made me feel at home I am very grateful for this experience and can’t wait to see these guys again.”

Hardy previously explained how the song was created:

“A while ago I received a phone call saying that Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg would like me to record my own version of ‘Gin and Juice’ for the launch of their new drink. I am still in disbelief, but I’m so excited to release my version of ‘Gin and Juice’ with the blessing of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg themselves!”

We are now waiting for the sequel which should be a new Snoop album produced by Dre, “Tha Doggfather, Missionary”.
