T-ARA’s Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun have spoken out regarding their impending divorce.
Married since December 2022, the singer and the baseball player recently announced that they were divorcing, less than two years after their marriage.

This October 5, each of them released an official statement on the situation.
Jiyeon’s lawyer, Choi Yuna, first said:
“The parties were unable to overcome their differences and agreed to divorce after a period of separation. They submitted an application for divorce mediation to the Seoul Family Court. We urge you to refrain from publishing any sensationalist articles or making any speculative comments. »
Jiyeon herself made a personal statement, saying:
“Hello, it’s Jiyeon. First of all, I apologize for bringing you unpleasant news. We agreed to mediate the divorce. Please understand that I cannot make a quick statement. I will strive to present myself in a better light in the future. THANKS. »
Hwang Jae Gyun personally said:
“I apologize for bringing this bad news to our fans. Jiyeon and I agreed to divorce after careful consideration due to personality differences, and we submitted an application for divorce mediation to the Seoul Family Court. We plan to resolve this matter amicably through the mediation process. Even though our relationship has ended, we will continue to support and encourage each other in our future endeavors. I sincerely apologize for disappointing our fans and ask that you please refrain from any speculation or hasty reporting. »
