This is the nice surprise of this month of May: Mylène Farmer is back at the cinema. 18 years after the start of the “Arthur and the Minimoys” trilogy, the singer returns to dubbing for the needs of “Blue & Company”. In this Hollywood film directed by John Krasinki, she lends her voice to the character of the butterfly Blossom, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the original version. “ Paramount contacted me to offer to lend my voice to “this” butterfly… I was very enthusiastic and curious. So I saw the film screened, almost finished. And it was irresistible. It’s a tender, moving and funny film too! » explains the interpreter of “Libertine” in an exclusive interview granted to Diverto.

“An exercise that requires rigor”

For the release of the film this Wednesday in French cinemas, Mylène Farmer lifts the veil on the behind-the-scenes of her performance in a making-of film. Usually so discreet, the artist allowed herself to be filmed during the voice recordings for the dubbing of what she describes as “ a very nice story » : « It’s a dreamlike world, it’s very tender, poetic, funny “. “ Blossom is a sweet, mischievous, caring butterfly… She is the imaginary friend of a grandmother who is passionate about dancing, Blossom is too. She is full of life » explains Mylène Farmer, happy to return to dubbing after playing Princess Sélénia: “ It’s something I really enjoy doing. It is an exercise that requires rigor, concentration and sharing. (…) It was full of joy, we laughed a lot… It’s exciting to do “.

This ” very nice gift » allowed Mylène Farmer to plunge back into the world of childhood: “ This is really a theme that is close to my heart. I myself wrote a book, “Lisa-Loup et le coconteur”, which took up this theme of the imaginary friend “. And she was even able to find José Garcia, who doubles for Blue and who had also officiated on “Arthur and the Minimoys” for the character of Ernest Davido. And the singer concludes with humor: “ I would like a Blue. Not a José Garcia, but a Blue the teddy! “.
