After two years of waiting, season 3 of the series Euphoria has not finished keeping fans waiting.
Loosely adapted from the Israeli television miniseries of the same title, Euphoria follows the chaotic life of a teenager prone to addictions. This drama series created by Sam Levinson received many positive reviews and was notably nominated for the Awards where actress Zendaya (who plays the main character) obtained the best actress award in 2020 and 2022.
After the first two seasons (+ two special episodes) and the strong reactions they aroused, it is therefore no surprise thatEuphoria was renewed for a season 3, which continues to be desired ever since. ‘The filming of season 3 has been postponed again’
WILL THERE BE A SEASON 3 OF EUPHORIA?
Yes, season 3 ofEuphoria was announced in February 2022. In September of the same year, HBO CEO Casey Bloys declared that the series would not go beyond four seasons and could even end after the third.
WHAT IS THE POSSIBLE RELEASE DATE FOR EUPHORIA SEASON 3?
Season 2 ofEuphoria ended in February 2022 and more than two years later, still no (real) sign of season 3, and there shouldn’t be any for a while yet. In fact, filming has been postponed several times due to various problems, starting with the writers’ and actors’ strike which paralyzed Hollywood from May to November 2023.
But the delay is also due to disagreements between HBO and Sam Levinson regarding the story arcs of season 3, the scenarios having been rewritten several times. Finally, several key actors and actresses from the series are now rising stars in Hollywood and are particularly in demand, like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi. Their schedule must therefore be taken into account.

As Sydney Sweeney declared to MTV, filming was to begin at the end of March 2024, but as announced on March 25, it was once again postponed. According to Deadline, no date has yet been setbut the chain hopes to begin production “ in the next two months “. HBO has therefore decided to give Sam Levinson more time to refine the scenarios for this season 3. This should therefore not arrive before 2025.

WHAT WILL EUPHORIA SEASON 3 BE ABOUT?
Euphoria tells the story of Rue, a 17 year old girl coming out of rehab. She navigates the heart of her chaotic life and searches for the meaning she must give it. She crosses paths with other people with the same questions, like Jules (Hunter Schafer), Nate (Jacob Elordi), Cassie (Syndey Sweeney), Gia (Storm Reid) and many others.
Not much is known about the story of season 3, but according to the series’ costume designer, Heidi Bivens, the sequel will take place several years after the end of season 2 : “ I can’t wait to read the scripts. It’s about projecting about five years into the future, and they’re no longer in high school “, she explained to Vogue at the beginning of the year.

Most of the main actors will be back in season 3, but some will no longer appear in the series. Indeed, on July 31, 2023, actor Angus Cloud who played Fez has died. The story therefore had to be rewritten without his character. In addition, Barbie Ferreira who played Kat announced her permanent departure from the series.

WHERE WILL EUPHORIA SEASON 3 BE AIR?
Euphoria is currently available in France on Amazon Prime Video, but via the Warner Pass (additional cost of €9.99), with only the first episode of the series being available for free. However, in the summer of 2024, HBO will launch Max, its streaming platform in France which should be Euphoria.
