Booba destroys Aya Nakamura and reveals why he “can’t stand her”

Booba attacked the French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura, in rather harsh terms.

Rivalries and clashes in urban music are so commonplace that it’s almost boring. But when the self-proclaimed duke of French rap takes on the undisputed superstar of the moment, it’s bound to get juicy.

Invited to give his opinion on Aya Nakamura in the columns of Le Parisien, rapper Booba, true to his reputation, engaged in the exercise with the sincerity for which he is known.

And the least we can say is that the native of Sèvres (Hauts-de-Seine) did not mince his words.

Aya Nakamura is “haughty” and “overrated”, according to rapper Booba

The 47-year-old MC, who has already had the opportunity to meet the singer, was not kind to the latter, whom he considers ” haughty ” And ” overrated “.

“I can’t stand her. I had the misfortune of trying to talk to her. I find her haughty, overrated” (Booba)

While readily acknowledging that she owes her success to no one, but only to her hits, Booba nonetheless remains very critical of the woman who was the most listened to female and French-speaking artist in the world. He criticizes her in particular for the quality of her lyrics, which, in his eyes, leaves something to be desired. A level of writing that he compares to that of a… middle school student.

“She has hits, but, on the writing, it’s sixth grade level. And yet another sixth grader who repeats (…)” (Booba)

Finally, Bobba (Elie Yaffa, his real name) regretted that Aya Nakumara did not take a more vocal position on social issues, despite her fame.

“She acts like a star, but she doesn’t move anything forward. She never speaks out on anything. She who was attacked by racists, did we hear her?” (Booba)

A somewhat harsh dig when you consider that Aya Nakamura has publicly spoken out several times to respond to her detractors. This was notably the case in the wake of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics, last July.
