Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: Harrison Ford plays the star of “Sex Education” in a surprising sci-fi film.

If you’re missing sci-fi, then block off your evening and tune in to C8 to discover a little-known gem of the genre: Ender’s Strategy, starring Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield, the hero of the Sex Education series! It is very likely that you will be surprised by the trip…

Released in theaters in 2013, The Ender’s Game immerses the viewer in the near future, when a hostile extraterrestrial species, the Colorado beetles, has attacked the Earth. The highly respected Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the Earth military forces train the best young minds to form distinguished officers. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) is selected to join the elite.

Adapted from the novel by Orson Scott Card published in 1985, The Ender’s Game went completely unnoticed during its theatrical release, and that’s a shame! For what ? Because the film is a blockbuster with style, far from the thunderous SF productions to which the public is most often accustomed.

With its high-class staging, its visually impressive action scenes and its humanist reflection, The Ender’s Game, a work as intelligent as it is surprising, denotes and seduces. And then there is the duo composed of the experienced Harrison Ford and the young Asa Butterfield which, alone, deserves to watch this film like no other…

An “X-Men” director at the helm

The Ender’s Game has points in common with my film My name is Tsotsiin particular that of following the journey and progression of a being towards maturity”notes director Gavin Hood, to whom we owe the blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine. “But it’s also a great spectacle: the experience I gained from making action films full of special effects really helped me, for example with the scenes taking place in weightlessness. I hope that The Ender’s Game will offer the best synthesis of these two experiences.”

The Ender’s Game, which had the sacred privilege of being filmed in unoccupied NASA warehouses previously used to build launch rockets, will not leave you indifferent as the film offers sci-fi that goes off the beaten track. What if you tried the experience?

Tonight on C8 at 9:20 p.m.
