Kendji Girac seems out of the woods. The 27-year-old singer, injured by gunfire early Monday morning in Biscarrosse in the Landes, was operated on Monday at the end of the day in a hospital in the suburbs of Bordeaux. The singer mentioned a domestic accident to the firefighters who came to help him. The Mont-de-Marsan public prosecutor’s office seems to favor another avenue since a judicial investigation for attempted intentional homicide was opened Monday evening. Singer popular with teenagers and older audiences alike, ten years after winning “The Voice” in 2014 and selling more than 5 million albums, Kendji Girac seems not to have really changed his life. Born in Périgueux in 1996, the singer grew up in the gypsy community in Saint-Astier in Dordogne, and spent several months a year on the road with his parents – his father Paul, a tree pruner, and his mother Carmen – his two sisters and his brother.

From his victory in “The Voice” and the release of his first album, Kendji Girac had an idea in mind: “Buy land to settle down with my family”, as recalled Audience. To make his professional life easier, Kendji Girac tried to rent an apartment in Paris a few years ago. He moved to rue de la Boétie and paid rent of more than €4,000 per month. He has a week and a half left and returns the keys. Kendji Girac’s clan spends the winter in the Paris region and the summer in Sanary in the Var.
In caravan and with family
In recent days, the artist had left his Parisian pavilion to enjoy the fresh ocean air in Biscarrosse in the Landes.
