L’Spanish Jonas Trueba, son of filmmaker Fernando Trueba, has taken to embroidering around his life and making his films with a group of loyal followers. After fifteen years together, the two characters they play, Alejandra and Alex, decide to organize a party to celebrate their separation. The Madrid couple repeats the same thing over and over to their stunned friends and family: they are separating on good terms and want them to come to this funny break-up party.
Ale and Alex thus transform a potentially sad event into a moment of celebration, not only of their shared past, but also of their uncertain future. The prospect of the party becomes a suspended moment where everything seems possible, including remarriage.
