A true juggernaut of pop culture, Star Wars is now available in all formats. We find the franchise on the big screen, of course, with no less than twelve films. The universe is also available on Disney +, with fourteen series produced with varying degrees of success. Then come dozens of novels, comics and video games that feed the story of this rich saga. The characters also navigate from format to format and, precisely, a hero who has become cult on console could finally appear in live action.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order et Star Wars Jedi Survivortwo popular video games
Among the fans’ favorite video games, it’s impossible not to mention Star Wars Fallen Order et Star Wars Survivor. Available respectively since 2019 and 2023, the two opuses take place a few years after the Great Jedi Purge organized by Emperor Palpatineaka Darth Sidious. In this disrupted world, several former Jedi and Padawans live in hiding so as not to attract the attention of Darth Vader’s inquisitors. One of them, a former Padawan by the name of Cal Kestiswill nevertheless experience incredible adventures throughout the galaxy. Adored by fans, this hero should first return in a third video game. Before, perhaps, appear in a live action project.
Cal Kestis soon present in the flesh in the Star Wars universe?
The rumor of Cal Kestis’ arrival in a Star Wars film or series is not new. Today, c’est Daniel Ritchman, aka Daniel RPK which announces an insistent desire on the part of Lucasfilm to bring Cal into a live action Star Wars project. The insider known for his scoops on Marvel and the universe created by George Lucas, however, does not comment on the film or series in question. If it turns out unlikely to be introduced into The Mandalorian & Grogu — the filming of the film directed by Jon Favreau ended last October — Cal Kestis could appear in the second season of Ahsoka. More plausibly, he could be one of the key figures in the mysterious film project directed by David Filoni. This would be centered on the characters of the Mandoverse (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, Star Wars : Skeleton Crew).
-A live action introduction after a third game
Why would Cal Kestis be adapted so late into the live action Star Wars franchise? Quite simply because his arc isn’t over yet in video games. Star Wars Survivor indeed has an ending sufficiently open to offer a new epic to the hero played brilliantly by actor Cameron Monaghan. He also confirmed that a third video game was in the development phase. However, we know thatsuch a project can take many years to complete. Finally, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order et Star Wars Jedi Survivor take place a twenty years before the events of Mandoverse. A premature introduction would give too many indications about Cal’s fate which could harm the plot of a third adventure on console.
