Christopher Nolan's next film will be a new adaptation of Homer's 'The Odyssey' – The Seventh : Your film website

Universal Pictures has announced that the next film produced, written and directed by Christopher Nolan will be titled ‘The Odyssey’being not by chance a new big screen adaptation of 'The Odyssey' by Homer, the famous Greek epic poem that narrates Odysseus's journey back to his homeland, the island of Ithaca, after his participation in the Trojan War.

According to the study, it will be “a mythical action epic filmed around the world with the latest IMAX technology” which will be released in movie theaters around the world on July 17, 2026, without any further details having been announced for now; even if it will be a faithful or contemporary adaptation.

Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o and Charlize Theron are for now the confirmed names of the cast of what will be the thirteenth film from the person responsible for titles such as 'Origen‘, ‘Interstellar‘, ‘‘, ‘Tenet‘, ‘Oppenheimer'or the trilogy of 'The Dark Knight'.

The original work has been previously adapted to both the small and big screen on many occasions; without going any further, at the beginning of this same month of December it premiered in the United States'The Return', a film directed by Uberto Pasolini that has a cast led by Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche.
