Better late than never. We just got confirmation this week, nineteen years after its theatrical release, one of DC’s most cult science fiction films is getting a sequel. On the program? We’re talking about Constantine, the character played by Keanu Reeves in 2005.
As Netflix subscribers find the time between seasons long, Stranger Thingsthey can console themselves by saying that there are worse things elsewhere. And they are not fans of Constantinea cult character from DC, who will say the opposite.
Constantine finally back?
In 2005, the character from the comics Hellblazer had the right to its first film adaptation in the film by Francis Lawrence, carried at the time by Keanu Reeves. A project that had worked rather well ($230 million collected at the box office, 72% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and which, 19 years later, is preparing (FINALLY) to have a sequel.
Asked about the subject by ComicBook, Lorenzo di Bonaventura simply said: “You know what? The script is right in my mailbox.“. Good news? Yes… but be careful.
