While the slasher Time Cut continues to be a hit on Netflix, director Hannah MacPherson has revealed the alternative ending that could have been filmed to spare the film from a lot of criticism.

Netflix recently put the spotlight on Madison Bailey and Antonia Gentry, known respectively for their roles in Outer Banks et Ginny & Georgiain a slasher type film. For Halloween, thrill-seekers were delighted to discover Time Cuta horror thriller starring Summer Field, a high school senior brutally murdered by a masked killer in 2003. Twenty years later, her little sister Lucy feels almost invisible, because the town and her parents are literally obsessed with the date of Summer’s death. The young girl accidentally finds a time machine and finds herself in 2003, just days before her older sister was murdered. She decides to do everything to prevent the murder, but she is far from suspecting that these changes could impact her future.

If the feature film quickly enjoyed success on Netflix, it unfortunately did not appeal to subscribers who were not hands-on, due to its totally incoherent ending. A few days after it was posted online, director Hannah MacPherson gave an interview with the Tudum site during which she reveals that multiple endings were written for the feature film. “That wasn’t the only possibility for the ending of the film. We had several options, including one where the sisters were alive in the present. Summer would have been 20 years older than Lucy, but they would have been alive. We just thought the image of a 45-year-old Summer and a teenage Lucy wasn’t as happy as the two teenagers living together.”said the one who does not regret the end of her film at all. “It was so good, to hell with logic of time travel”she added.

The success of the feature film rests above all on the choice of actresses who are not unknown to Netflix subscribers. Madison Bailey, the interpreter of Kiara in Outer Bankslent her features to Lucy Field opposite Antonia Gentry, revealed thanks to her role in Ginny & Georgia. The 27-year-old actress, who plays Summer Field, told the site Tumdu that she was happy to have been able to play both the first victim of the masked killer and one of the last survivors. “The best of both worlds. I had a bucket list and I was like: ‘I want to be slashed’.”
