Taron Egerton is trapped in the trailer for Netflix’s Die Hard-style thriller

Carry-Onthe tense thriller made in Netflix with Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, offers a shattering and breathtaking trailer.

In recent years, Jaume Collet-Serra has wallowed in big commercial and poor productions with Jungle Cruise for Disney and Black Adam for the DCEU. However, if the director started in horror with The Wax House or Esther, he is above all known for B series (often behind closed doors) where the characters are confronted with a threat. Besides his shark film Survival instinct with Blake Lively, he has regularly featured Liam Neeson in adrenaline thrillers in fashion Die Hard or Phone Game.

And after the train in The Commuter and the plane in Non-stopthe Spanish filmmaker decided to set his new film in an airport (without Liam Neeson this time). Titled Carry-Onand first collaboration between Jaume Collet-Serra and Netflix, the film has just been revealed in a first trailer which increases the pressure.

Prepare for takeoff

The first images of the film announce a very gripping suspense thriller, precise and above all perfectly calibrated for the approaching Christmas holidays. The trailer recites its breviary of the classic little B series, whose starting point is reminiscent of Phone Game by Joel Schumacher: a stranger takes a security guard hostage by telephone, threatening to kill some of his relatives if he does not let a dangerous package pass through customs and board a plane.

Obviously, the young security agent (Taron Egerton) will have to find a way to escape this inextricable situation to avoid a possible catastrophe. Far from the anxiety of the call, the trailer promises some violent action scenes including a car accident filmed from the inside. Furthermore, at the other end of the line, the camera will also follow the journey of the famous antagonist (played by Jason Bateman).

“I’m making a little Colof in scred”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the director said a little more about his hero of the film:

“Ethan is a relatively ordinary person thrown into an extraordinary situation, and the way he adapts and grows to save those he loves over the course of the film ends up making him quite extraordinary, even as he discovers that being extraordinary is is actually just being himself. »

The screenplay is written by TJ Fixman and screenwriter Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) also participated in the development of the story during production. If it doesn’t seem revolutionary, it will undoubtedly be a good way to treat yourself to a good evening during the holidays since Carry-On is scheduled for December 13, 2024 on Netflix.
