The new Spider-Man is already filming and the first photos are here!

In 1930s New York, an aging, down-on-his-luck private detective struggles with his past as the city’s one and only superhero”: this is what awaits us in Spider-Noir, the new live-action Marvel series created by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot for Prime Video.

Indeed, while Sony is still pursuing the Spider-Man stories on the big screen, the studio is now moving to the small screen with one of the versions of the protagonist: Spider-Noir. And the main performer of the show will be none other than dear Nicolas Cage who will make his live-action debut here in the role of the titular hero.

After lending his voice to the character in Spider-Man: New Generation (2018), the legendary actor will now have the opportunity to play him “for real” and the least we can say is that we can’t wait to actually see him this time in the skin of this outdated detective from Marvel comics.

The rest of the cast will be completed by Brendan Gleeson, actor from the Harry Potter franchise who can also currently be seen in Joker: Folie à Deux, who will play the main villain of the series. Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Fargo), recently awarded the Emmys, will play the role of Robbie Robertson, a journalist straight out of the comics. We can also find Li Jun Li (Babylon), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, Fargo), Abraham Popoola (Andor), Amanda Schull (Suits), Lukas Haas (Inception, The Revenant), Cameron Britton (Mindhunter, Umbrella Academy), Michael Kostroff (On Listen), or even the young Cary Christopher (Days of lives).

While Spider-Noir has started filming in Los Angeles, we don’t yet know when the series will hit our screens. Meanwhile, the first live photos from the set have been revealed and we discover Nicolas Cage as the mysterious superhero, who apparently won’t be Peter Parker in this version. The setting also gives a first glimpse of the New York of the 1930s which will be at the heart of the series.

We’ll let you discover all this in the first images below.
