Cinema releases: “The Wire”, “Beetlejuice” and “Kaizen”, the films to see this week

the essential
Every Wednesday, a programmer or a theater director from Toulouse or its agglomeration gives us his selection of films of the week. This week, it is Sébastien Lieury, director of Pathé Labège, who gives us his favorites on the releases of this Wednesday, September 11.

Among the fifteen films coming out this week, Sébastien Lieury, director of Pathé Labège, recommends three films to us.

Thus, “Le fil”, directed and played by Daniel Auteuil, a drama that raises questions of ethics and whose plot is inspired by a news story experienced by lawyer Jean-Yves Moyart. After having exonerated a repeat murderer, Maître Jean Monier, a lawyer played by Auteuil, has decided to no longer take on criminal cases.

But one day, Nicolas Milik (Grégory Gadebois), a father accused of killing his wife, shows up. Touched by this man, doubting his guilt, the lawyer will return to duty… “I like the story, I want to see Auteuil director again and knowing that the other main actor in “The Wire” is Grégory Gadebois, who I am a fan of, I can’t wait to see the confrontation between the two…”, explains the cinema director.

  • “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”

The other film to watch starting this Wednesday is “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” by Tim Burton. “The legendary Beetlejuice was 36 years ago and this emblematic character by Tim Burton marked a whole generation of which I am a part,” continues Sébastien Lieury.

“Seeing Michael Keaton play Beetle again will take us back to our childhood. I will happily rediscover the fantastic and magical world of Tim Burton. Always very creative, his cinema is atypical but it remains great cinema. Bright colors, crazy makeup, gags, psychedelic visual effects…”

  • “Kaizen, a year to carve Everest”

“The third film is a surprise that we did not expect: when we opened sales two weeks ago, 300 tickets were quickly bought.”

“Kaizen, a year to climb Everest” is a documentary made by Inoxtag, a young Youtuber, a star of the young. Neither a mountaineer nor an athlete, he set himself the challenge, a year ago, to climb Everest. And he filmed for a year his life change to achieve this dream. The preparation and the ascent. His film will be in theaters for two days on September 13 and 14. And then it will be put online for free on his Youtube channel. But clearly his fans want to see his epic on the big screen…
