The universe created by JK Rowling has been talked about in recent years, whether with the release of the excellent game Hogwarts Legacyor the announcement of the reboot series of the saga Harry Potter. Warner is back today with a new project that seems to be a top priority for its CEO.

A new magical project within the Wizarding World

Although the success of the literary saga Harry Potter was immediate with more than 68,000 copies sold for the first volume and this just on its first weekend of publication, it is with the arrival in cinemas in December 2001 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stonethat the universe of the young wizard has become a global phenomenon to the point of forever marking an entire generation of readers and fans of dark rooms. Since the end of the publication of the novels and the last film of the saga, as with many successful franchises, other works have come to enrich this universe, with of course the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Childbut also the trilogy THE Fantastic Beastsat the beginning of last year the superb video game Hogwarts Legacy and in April of the same year, a new adaptation of the saga was announced, this time in series. Harry Potter pour HBO.

If some are wondering what new projects around this magical universe are in preparation, There is one that is particularly close to the heart of the financial director of Warner Bros. Discovery: the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy. Indeed, it was during an annual media conference organized by the Bank of America last Wednesday that our colleagues from Variety were able to question Gunnar Wiedenfels on the subject and he was very clear:

Of course a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is one of our biggest priorities in the coming years. It is clear that investment in this sector [les jeux vidéo] will play a crucial role in our company growth strategy.

So yes, Hogwarts Legacy will certainly be entitled to a sequel worthy of the name and perhaps even sooner than one might have thought, given Gunnar Wiedenfels’ statements.

Passionate about fantasy and science fiction since a young age, I love these genres in books, films, series, role-playing games… As long as a scenario holds up and the story transports me, I am a happy man.
