DHow long had we not seen that? A French film that really tackles politics, not only through societal questions, as in the films of Stéphane Brizé or, recently, Their children after them. A film that names things, poses the essential question of dialogue with the extremes, describes a specific journey – in this case within a violent ultra -right group – and its consequences. A film where the story of a family becomes a powerful metaphor for in 2025.

Play with fire was born from the desire of directors, the sisters Delphine and Muriel Coulin (17 girls, 2011), to “understand what we are living today, they explain, and above all how the extreme right has become such a important political force in our country”. From a novel by Laurent Petitmangin (What is needed at nightThe factory of books), they developed a film “entirely from the point of view of the father”, as was the book, written in the first person.
