Cécile Watelet is putting the huge family building on the Grand-Place in Huy up for sale: “It’s the end of a transgenerational legacy”

A family legacy that comes to an end

This family heritage began under the leadership of the great-grandfather of the current owner. At the time, the Hutois ran his tailoring business there. Over the years, many businesses have passed through and the building has survived through time within the Struvay family.

But after dozens and decades of prosperity, the current owner of the place can’t take it anymore and wants peace and quiet. “If I sell, it’s so I no longer have to take care of itreveals Cécile Watelet. The fact that the building is up for sale is a real relief.” This discount is the twilight of a long history in Cécile Wathelet’s family. “It’s the end of a transgenerational legacy. I’m stuck, I can’t do it anymore. I feel from the depths of my being that the story is over.”

The Spectacled Bear has no intention of leaving the Grand-Place of Huy

All businesses would like to stay

Despite this sale which is taking shape, the Hutoise does not wish to stop her activity as a hairdresser. “We will see with the new buyer if it is possible to stay. But if this is not the case, I am also open to living new adventures by moving my living room. I have already visited the four corners of Huy, It’s not one more move that scares me.”

Cécile Watelet also wants to highlight building tradespeople. “They are golden tenants. I don’t know if they will be able to stay, it will depend on the new buyer and they will see between themselves, but I know that almost all of them want it.”

Among the residents of the family building, the hairdresser insists on the relationship she maintains with the Sat Nam yoga studio. “With the manager Charline Grégoire, it was almost a partnership. She is someone very wise and very spiritual. That’s a bit what I would like to head towards, that’s what made me helped me to hold on over the last few months. I have done treatment at her place and I find that she creates a very positive atmosphere, whether in the place or in the sales project. She has always supported me, as has she. my two daughters and my son.”
