In 2002, 28 days later shook the coconut tree zombies – infectedthe purists will say. The same year as the Resident Evil by Paul WS Anderson, where Milla Jovovich beat up blouses and made-up dogs in an MTV homage to George Romero, this little film with a budget four times lower managed to make something new out of something oldand with a certain intelligence.
By turning the usual lame zombies into rabid marathon runnersand by placing its story in an empty London where a few survivors wandered, director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland have orchestrated a little masterstroke. The world welcomed him as it should, with more than 84 million at the box officefor a budget of 8 million. Less appreciated, the very good sequel 28 weeks later released in 2007 was only the beginning, since 28 months later was announced – and teased with the arrival of the infected in Paris.
We just had to wait 18 years for this to happen, so much so that the film is called 28 years later. Here again, this is only the beginning since the team is preparing a trilogy, the second part 28 Years Later : The Bone Temple having already been shot. And the third is preparing, with already an announcement: the director’s choice.
THE END OF THE TRILOGY 28 YEARS LATER
The promo of 28 years later will seriously begin with a view to release, June 18, 2025 In France. So what will this trilogy be about? 28 years later will follow Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Isla (Jodie Comer) and their son Spike (Alfie Williams)members of a small community which settled on an island, connected to the territory by a small arm of land accessible only between the tides. But the child reaches the age of mysterious rite of passagewhich involves a journey to the other side, to the world of the infected and other dangers.

“Making a story of this magnitude doesn’t happen in this country. Doing this in Britain, in these dimensions, is great. »
With one major detail however: this third film will not be officially launched only if 28 years later is a success in theaters, and the public wants more. Knowing that the second one has already been shot, a failure would be more than embarrassing for the team.
