For Quebecers looking for an activity to do this Christmas Eve, Cinéma Moderne offers a variety of films for all tastes and ages.

The small branch, located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, broadcasts around twenty different films per week.

“It involves restored classics and obviously new Quebec releases,” said Florence Julien-Gagnier, president and general director of Cinéma Moderne, in an interview at Quebec morning Tuesday. We try to really have something for everyone.”

Three films will be presented on Christmas Eve, until 5 p.m., in the small 54-seat cinema. “It makes it have a very intimate and warm side,” she described.

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Flo, Prayer for a lost mitten et Mommy: these films are part of the Holiday selection by the programming committee.

Cinéma Moderne will also present a program of five Quebec short films on December 27. “It’s rarer for us to have access to short films,” said M.me Julien-Gagnier. It allows you to discover several filmmakers at the same time, it’s really cool.”

Parents can also take advantage of an adjacent café-bar, which allows their children to watch the film while having a drink or a coffee.

The cinema hall reveals all its programming on its website. It will broadcast its holiday selection until January 5, with the exception of December 25 and December 1is January, when its doors will be closed.
