the sequel to Danny Boyle's film has a release date soon

On December 10, we discovered the first trailer for the film 28 years later. For this third opus of the post-apocalyptic saga begun in 2002, Sony gave us a trailer that was both spectacular and mysterious. The studio also comes fromannounce a release date for the fourth part of the franchise and imagine that it's coming soon!

28 years later: the return of the Danny Boyle-style zombies

Fans have been waiting for years for this: the film 28 years later will be released in cinemas next year. A production that marks the return of Danny Boyle behind the camera but also of screenwriter Alex Garland as well as the Oscar-winning actor for OppenheimerCillian Murphy. Moreover, some fans thought they recognized him in the trailer in the form of a terrifying zombie, but that wasn't him.

Still, the public waited for 23 years to see the arrival this third part of the zombie saga which is in reality the first episode of a new trilogy imagined by Sony. So, 28 years later will be released in French cinemas on June 18 and we already know when the fourth film in the license will be released.

Fans 28 years later won't have to wait long to discover the 4th opus of the saga

Indeed, the continuation of 28 years latertitled 28 Years Later Part II : The Bone Temple already has a release date since the shooting of this film under the leadership of Nia DaCosta (The Marvels, Candyman) took place in England last August. Good news for fans of the universe since the film will be released on January 16, 2026 in UNITED STATES. For now, the French release date is not yet known. As is the casting. It is a safe bet that the public finds the same cast as Danny Boyle's film. But at the time of writing, no source confirms this information.

As a reminder, 28 years laterafter the Fury Virus escaped from a biological weapons laboratory which forced the establishment of strict containment, individuals managed to survive among infected people. We find there a community of survivors has settled on an island connected to the mainland by a highly protected road. When one of the survivors is sent on a mission on the continent he will discover the mutation of the infected but also of other survivors.
