Unveiled on Tuesday, the terrifying trailer for the zombie film 28 years later caused a lot of reaction from moviegoers due in particular to the appearance of a mysterious character who seems to be played by an unrecognizable Cillian Murphy.
Towards the end of the trailer, we can in fact briefly see a zombie-like character who seems to be played by the actor of Oppenheimer.
Remember that Cillian Murphy played the main role in the first film of the apocalyptic saga, 28 days later, in 2002, and that the film’s producers recently hinted that he would be back in the sequel “in a surprising way.”

One of the most anticipated films of 2025, 28 years later is the third part of the apocalyptic saga that began in 2002 with 28 days later. British filmmaker Danny Boyle (Trainspotting) is back behind the camera to direct this sequel to his cult zombie film.
This is Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter) who plays the main role in the new film, notably surrounded by Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell.
Set three decades after the story of the first film, the plot of 28 years later features a community of uninfected people trying to survive in a country ravaged by rabid infected people. The film will follow the journey of a young boy who sets out to find a doctor to help his dying mother.
28 years later will be released in Quebec on June 20.
