Disney has a series of ambitious projects, but not all of them are unanimous. Between expected returns and modernized visions, the debates around his new productions are intensifying.

Return to sea for Disney

Disney news is still dense! At the moment, it is the return of Moana that the French have the right to do. The Polynesian heroine is back in a new adventure alongside the demigod Maui. However, this return was considered a little bland by critics. If this new animated film is without context much better than the latest Disney productions like Wish, it is only a shadow of the first film. Moana 2 disappoints criticism with only 66% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoesfar from 95% of the original film. Critics denounce a bland and disjointed story, lacking emotion and coherence.

The Boston Globe compared the film to Disney's past direct-to-video sequels, while Slate and CBC criticized its commercialism and lack of ambition. The Washington Post considers the plot confusing and not very captivating. Overall, the sequel is perceived as inferior and dispensable. In short, it is only now that Mickey's firm will make a splash. We may instead have to count on this project to $269 million who gets a lot of attention.

Magic mirror on the wall, who has perfect and pure beauty?

After the live-action The Little Mermaid, which was once again talked about for its artistic choices, its casting and its script changes, it is the turn of Snow White to be at the heart of the debates, for exactly the same reasons. In a new trailer, the princess played by Rachel Zegler reveals herself a little more, just like the evil stepmother played by Gal Gadot. If we immediately recognize the iconic elements of the 1937 cartoon, such as Snow White's yellow dress or the seven dwarfs, the modern vision of this tale also shines through more and more.

Zegler warned us: this time, Snow White will not wait for a prince charming to come and save her and no longer intends to play the damsel in distress. In the trailer, this is noticeable because we understand that the princess will go herself save her kingdom from the queen.

This is surely why we see her riding through the forest but above all standing in front of her mother-in-law alongside some troops whose nature we do not know. However, these upheavals will not overshadow the original story which is also present in the film. Still in the trailer, we could see the prince, the seven dwarves and their looks, the huntsman who chases Snow White, but above all the very famous poisoned apple. More than waiting March 19, 2025 to see if Disney will have succeeded in revisiting the most famous of its animated films.
