After the excellent Land of Badthe action thriller Canary Black or more recently the feature film Libre signed Mélanie Laurent, Prime Video continues its conquest of action films. Available on the streaming platform this November 28, the film Absolution features the actor from the franchise Taken in the service of the Boston mafia, determined to reduce rival organizations to ashes to find his own people. A film directed by Hans Petter Moland (Cold Blooded, Chilled) mixing action, thriller and family drama.
Absolution: Liam Neeson ready to fight once and for all
Having become a true specialist in action films, Liam Neeson is therefore returning to service in Absolution. This time, the Northern Irish actor plays the role of a man named ''Thug'', a former boxer who became a henchman and even a hitman for the Boston mafia, led with an iron fist by Charlie Conner , played by Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy).
In Absolutionand like the film Murderous memory (released in 2022 on Prime Video), in which he played a hitman suffering from Alzheimer's, the actor of Schindler's List (1993) and Misérables (1998) is therefore a 'trigger' in the service of the mafia.
Everything changes when Thug learns that he suffers from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a neuro-progressive disease linked to his past as a boxer. Suffering from significant memory loss and being perfectly aware that his days are unfortunately numbered, the hitman tries to make up for lost time with his daughter Daisy as well as his grandson whom he has never met. To win back the people dearest to his heart, the henchman is ready to do anything, even if it means clashing with rival mafia clans and spoiling us with great fight scenes…
