While the release of Spider-Man : Beyond the Spider-Verse was compromised according to the rumors circulating, it would seem that the project is on the right track if we rely on what seems to be the start of promotion which is off to a good start and which could finally reveal a release date.
An uncertain release for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
Initially, Beyond the Spider-Verse was supposed to come out almost immediately afterAcross the Spider-Verse in 2023. However, it was delayed without necessarily any official announcement being made for a release date for this third opus. Very quickly, rumors have multiplied on the Internet and social networks. Fans feared the film would be canceled. Among the rumors circulating, that relayed by an article published by insider Jeff Sneider in which he explained that Sony had decided to remove a major part of Beyond the Spider-Verse for creative questions. A decision implying in fact, a postponement of the release of the animated film to at least 2027 and not 2025 or even early 2026 as fans hoped.
Very quickly after the publication of this information, Daniel Pemperton, the film's composer, refuted it followed by screenwriter and producer Chris Miller. The latter had also denied the information shared by the insider. He took advantage of it to reassure fans by affirming that the project was progressing well without giving any indication of a release date.
Coming soon a huge announcement for Beyond the Spider-Verse?
But according to what appears to be a promotional campaign around Spider-Man : Beyond the Spider-Versewe hope that a release date will finally be revealed to us! And for good reason: Internet users have shared photos taken in the streets of New York showing us a huge and no less mysterious Spider-Verse logo being installed on the facade of a building located in the Chelsea district.
The logo made in white light neon is exactly the same as the one on Miles Morales' costume in the Spider-Verse saga. And the choice of the Chelsea neighborhood would not be insignificant because it is like the one where Gwen Stacy comes from.
For the fans, all these elements are clues which could suggest a huge announcement concerning Spider-Man : Beyond the Spider-Verse. Especially since another insider, Alex Perez, announced that December would be a “great time of year for Spider-Man fans“. Let us remember that the first glimpse ofAcross the Spider-Verse was unveiled during CCXP 2022. It could well be that Beyond the Spider-Verse repeats the operation for the 2024 edition which will take place from December 5 to 8.
