Released in 2017, Justice League failed to convince fans of the original comics. It must be said that the project, which was to compete with Marvel in the cinema, experienced turbulence during its gestation: its director, Zack Snyder, had to leave his post after the suicide of his daughter, and was replaced by Joss Whedon.
In 2021, fans of DC Comics and Zack Snyder have finally won their case: the famous “Snyder Cut” which the director and his fans have been clamoring for on the web for months has finally been released. But what is this Snyder Cut? This is an edited version of the film Justice Leaguecompleted for theaters by Joss Whedon and little appreciated upon its release by both fans and critics. The objective was to propose a new montage of Justice Leaguebased on numerous unfinished scenes, which involves returning the film to post-production and to the editing bench for new cutting, new music and new special effects.
Since then, Zack Snyder, who was unable to complete his project for personal reasons, asked Warner Bros. the possibility of re-editing his film with cut scenes but also a budget for additional filming sessions and special effects more in line with his vision. In total, this new version lasts 4 hours and adds many new images.
