The costume of the jealous, impulsive and low-ceilinged husband fits the Belgian François Damiens like a glove. This is also the criticism that can be leveled at Stefan Liberski’s film (Tokyo Bride): he offers each of his compatriots a well-known and perfectly formatted score. Like Laurence Bibot ideally cast in the role of a daring and frank artist of the necklace.
Breathtaking landscapes and paintings of all styles, all periods and all influences, magnifying nature and the simple beauty of everyday life, complete this impression of an escape outside of time and space. However, it does not always manage to go beyond the framework of the anecdote.
We imagine that all the performers took great pleasure in playing this half-satirical, half-schooly score, parodying the world of contemporary art. Camille Cottin (Toni with family) and Gustave Kervern bring their own touches of color to this somewhat hastily sketched impressionist painting.
