For this new edition, the public is invited free of charge to come discover or rediscover ten cult films, adaptations of great literary works on the big screen, released from November 18 to 22.

The two previous editions allowed 5,000 spectators to discover or rediscover major films in theaters for one evening. In 2024, the event takes on a national scale, making the BNP Paribas #CinéCulte screenings a cinema event not to be missed in . 10 major French cities will host a total of 100 exceptional screenings: Aix-en-Provence (Le Cézanne), (CGR Le Français), (Pathé Ciné Cap Vert), (UGC Ciné Cité Lille), (Pathé Bellecour), (Pathé Comédie), (UGC Ciné Cité Atlantis), (Mk2 Quai de , Mk2 Beaubourg, Mk2 Bibliothèque, Mk2 Odéon St-Germain), (Pathé Thillois) and (Pathé Rennes).

10,000 free tickets to discover or rediscover these films

This new edition offers a program of 10 cult films, all adapted from essential works of which the literary origin of some is sometimes unknown, thus revealing the richness of the stories which inspired these classics of the big screen.

These films will be screened simultaneously in all participating cities, and 10,000 places are being offered via a competition on the BNP Paribas We Love Cinema website. The competition is open to everyone from October 17 to November 22, 2024. The winners, who will have been drawn at random, will be able to win 2 places to attend the cinema session of their choice.

Every day of the week, spectators will be able to watch on the big screen films based on books that have marked the history of cinema such as “The Great Gatsby”, “The Name of the Rose” and “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, iconic sagas such as “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” “Hunger Games” and “The Godfather,” and science fiction or fantasy films like “Blade Runner” and “Shutter Island.” Comedy fans will not be left out with screenings of “Tontons Flingueurs” and young audiences will be able to enjoy the animated film “Aladdin”.

To complete this program, a preview of the film “Their children after them”, directed by Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma, based on the eponymous novel by Nicolas Mathieu, published by Editions Actes Sud, Prix Goncourt 2018, will be organized at the mk2 Bibliothèque on November 22 at 7 p.m., in the presence of the film crew. This preview will also be offered simultaneously in the other partner cinemas of this edition.
