Recently, Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, teased a totally crazy post-credits scene for Deadpool & Wolverine. The comic book writer promises that this additional sequence will be totally mind-blowing. Which made us want to offer you some theories around this post-credits scene. Here are our top 11 theories surrounding this sequence.
11) Shawarma scene
This is probably the least exciting proposition on this list. It is rumored that in Deadpool & Wolverinethe two mutants will wander through time and the multiverse. A plot pirouette which could allow Shawn Levy (the director) to replay some of the best moments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a bit like Avengers: Endgame. Like the brothers Russo did it with their behemoth, Deadpool & Wolverine could therefore take the public into the throes of the MCU. With this assumption, some fans believe that the post-credits scene of Deadpool & Wolverine will resume post-credits scene of the first Avengers, this time including Deadpool. The latter could therefore become embedded in this scene and eat Shawarma with Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow.
10) The return of a character from the past
We already know, Deadpool & Wolverine will bring back iconic characters from old licenses. Aaron Stanford is back in Pyro, Jennifer Garner in Elektra, Tyler Mane in Sabretooth, etc… Many other characters have not yet been announced. And if the post-credits scene of Deadpool & Wolverine took Wade Wilson to face one of these vestiges? Chris Evans in Human Torch, Eric Bana or Edward Norton in Hulk, Wesley Snipes in Blade, etc…, and if, the post-credits scene brought back one of his legends in the MCU?
9) Avengers vs. X-Men
One of the most likely theories is that this post-credits scene allows us to introduce Wolverine in the MCU. The character of Hugh Jackman could officially join the MCU through this additional sequence. And he couldn’t be alone. Logically, if Wolverine joins the MCU, the other X-Men should do the same. What if this post-credits scene allowed us to tease a cult comic book crossover: Avengers vs. X-Men ?
8) Deadpool and the Spider-Men
What if Deadpool ended up in one of the Spider-Man universes. The mercenary in red tights could totally find himself in a universe that is not his. Why not in the universe of Tobey Maguire or that ofAndrew Garfield. Thus allowing us to tease a new opus of one of the two sagas. See from bringing the two together in a unique crossover.
7) The SSU
Another possibility, Deadpool could join the Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. The best way is to have him meet the Venom by Tom Hardy. The opportunity, once again, to stage an unprecedented crossover between two totally brainless and very violent anti-heroes.
6) x-men ’97
One of the most credible possibilities also concerns the characters of X-Men ’97. The post-credits scene of Deadpool & Wolverine could feature the characters of X-Men ’97 in live action. Tornado, Scott, Jean Grey, Magneto, they could all enter the MCU this way. And seeing our favorite X-Men in live-action again is priceless.
5) A Fantastic Four connection
One of the next highly anticipated films in the MCU is undoubtedly Fantastic Four. And if the post-credits scene of Deadpool & Wolverine simply teased the arrival of the Fantastic 4. Either by directly presenting the new castingor via the big villain of the film: the powerful Galactus. The film could end with this cosmic threat by integrating the purple giant.
4) Deadpool in the MCU
This is undoubtedly the most anticipated theory. But Deadpool & Wolverine could end with Deadpool’s introduction to the MCU. The mercenary would thus cross paths with several MCU characters such as the Avengers, Dr. Strange, Loki, Moon Knight or anyone else.
3) Fatalis and Secret Wars
One of the most likely theories obviously concerns a teaser of Secret Wars. This Avengers highly anticipated by fans is currently in preparation. Each of the current MCU productions serves to move towards this gigantic conclusion. Logically, since Jonathan Majors was oustedFatalis should take over and replace Kang as the main threat in the MCU. That’s good, because he’s the big bad guy in the comics. Secret Wars. The post-credits scene of Deadpool & Wolverine could therefore confront our two heroes with the powerful Doom. The two mutants could be taken through a Strange portal into the universe of Secret Wars, in full hegemony of Doom. They could then discover a world changed, destroyed, annihilated and dominated by the tyrant Doom. A way to tease Secret Wars and the presence of the two mutants in the immense juggernaut. A brilliant final scene that would help explain the absence of Deadpool and Wolverine in the rest of the MCU until Secret Wars.
2) The rescue of Iron Man
One of the most exciting theories concerns the rescue of Iron Man. According to some fans, at the end of the film, Deadpool could return at the end of Avengers: Endgame, during the big final battle. Remember, at the end of the film, Dr. Strange and Wong open an impressive number of portals, allowing the MCU’s greatest heroes to come together to face Thanos and his army. And if, Deadpool & Wolverine changed the end of Avengers: Endgame ? What if Deapdool came out of one of these portals, managed to take possession of the infinity gauntlet And snapped his fingers instead of Tony Stark. Thanos would still be defeated, and Iron Man would stay aliveallowing to bringing Robert Downey Jr. back into the MCU.
1) A crossover with the DC universe
But the craziest theory is this. And if, at the end of Deadpool & Wolverine, Wade Wilson completely changed universes? And if the mercenary found himself immersed in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU)? We could have a totally mind-blowing and clearly gratuitous scene in which Deadpool would cross paths with Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. This sequence would probably lead to nothing since the DCEU is officially deadbut it would be a hell of a delirium for comic book fans!
