We discover the story of François Grimbert, a lonely and sensitive young boy in post-war who invents a fictitious older brother and the idyllic meeting of his parents. As he grows up, he discovers a dark secret about his origins, hidden by his family for several years. Through flashbacks, his parents’ past during World War II is revealed, allowing him to finally build himself.

This drama was nominated eleven times for the César and took home the prize for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, for the interpretation of Julie Depardieu in the skin of Louise. Alongside him in the cast we find Patrick Bruel, Cécile de France, Ludivine Sagnier and Mathieu Amalric.
