MotoGP | Marc Marquez and Ducati, day 1: “It puts butterflies in my stomach”

Marc Marquez starts his new adventure at Ducati. And on the occasion of the presentation of his new Motorcycle this Monday, the Spaniard preferred to keep a low profile. “Pecco (Bagnaia, his teammate) is very strong and it would be normal for him to be in front, especially at the start of the season. Last year he won 11 races, although he made mistakes. I will try to find how to adapt my driving style to reach my best level. My main objective will be to finish the championship in the Top 3“, explained at a press conference the Catalan, who will celebrate his 32nd birthday next month.

Marquez, who returned to the top last season within the Ducati-Gresini satellite team, winning three victories after almost three years of waiting, will now have more pressure within the official team.

“It’s truly an emotional moment. I have a lot of experience in MotoGP but arriving in a new team which is the benchmark today, it puts butterflies in my stomach because I am enthusiastic about the idea of ​​starting a new project. I fought a lot against Ducati but they made me smile last year and it's really a privilege to be in the official team this year“, he declared on stage just after unveiling his motorcycle at Madonna di Campiglio, in the Italian Alps.

But the Spaniard will also have the weapons to fight for the title and battle with Bagnaia, double world champion (2022, 2023) who will want to recover his crown abandoned last November to Madrid's Jorge Martin, who will ride this season for Aprilia.
