MotoGP™ will travel to Buriram for the 2025 season opener at the end of February. Despite the few weeks that separate us from this meeting, some have already returned to the track in Asia. In fact, Honda is carrying out a two-day private test at the Chang International Circuit through Aleix Espargaró, while Romano Albesiano, the brand's new technical director, directs operations.
This is Albesiano's first appearance on a circuit with Honda, the Italian having missed the Barcelona Test due to commitments with Aprilia at the time. Having played a key role in transforming Aprilia into one of the main forces in the field, Albesiano is now on a mission to help Honda regain its former glory.
As for Aleix Espargaró, he should be associated with Takaaki Nakagami in Buriram, which marks the start of a new chapter for both men after their retirement as starters at the end of 2024. Aleix Espargaró mentioned this Test on Instagram with a photo of himself and Albesiano in Honda colors.
Honda is eligible for additional Testing due to its rank in the MotoGP™ dealership system. So, we will have the pleasure of seeing them in action during the Sepang Shakedown from January 31 to February 2, before of course the Sepang Official Test on February 5.
-These driving days will take place in parallel with the 2025 team presentations, since the official Honda team will unveil its new livery on February 1, compared to February 8 for LCR Honda.
