Marc Márquez's first day as an official Ducati rider, during a test in Barcelona, marked an expected turning point for the eight-time champion and the Italian team. After spending a year adapting to the Desmosedici, Márquez took the handlebars of the GP25, a prototype developed for 2025. His initial feedback dispelled the engineers' concerns. “When he came back to the pits, the first thing he said was: I like the bike. For me, it was a relief,” said Massimo Grassilli, sporting director of Ducati Corse.
Marquez relieved
This test day, essential to laying the foundations for the season to come, also saw Márquez and teammate Pecco Bagnaia deliver similar comments on the bike. “Pecco and I saw the same advantages and the same problems,” underlined Márquez. A technical complicity that Ducati hoped for, as the meeting of these two champions questioned the balance within the team. For Márquez, this founding step also allowed him to reconnect with a central role in development, a challenge that he seems ready to take on: “I feel ready to give precise feedback to the factory.”
